Ah, yes. I have explored this report and your site multiple times. I think I've settled on progressive springs w/ intiminator valves up front and would like to do the bitubos (most likely 13") in the rear. my only qualm with the bitubos is i dont see a chrome option. is that accurate Kevin?

Default rear turn signal wire repair

Well once again I turned a simple little project into more. few days ago was doing a pre-ride safety check and realized my right rear blinker was not functioning. thought it was the bulb, swapped it out and - no joy. the blinker in my integrated brake light still worked so i knew it was in the rear wiring. found the wire had been worn/ rubbed all the way through under the fender

I was just going to repair the wire and then i discovered the other side was wearing through as well. seems the wire retention mounts had failed. decided it would just be easier to remove the fender to deal with the mounts, but since i had the fender off........ here i go again

decided to add some LED lights under the fender. had these lying around since the last mod but never got them installed. cleaned the hell out of the underside of the fender, added some zip tie standoffs and straightened out the mangled wire chase retention tabs. laid down some super-duper double sided tape and put the lights in

Before

After

and here is the final result

I really like the added visibility from the sides. I've got another set for over the engine, just haven't found the wire routing and placement that I will be happy with. Oh, and the wire repair worked well

Default 12.5" Progressive 444

Got the rear done, now on to the front. The spacer length in the instructions is clear as mud, anyone have any guidance?

Default progressive 444 review

So I got to take the bike out for single and two up rides with the new 444's on. Wow, what a difference, especially two up. Now lets be realistic, its no Cadillac ride but it made a vast difference in the rideability on rough roads. Over some of the bumps that used to damn near buck me off the bike, I now stay firmly planted. I love that I didnt feel bumps straight into my spine. I will be putting the progressive springs up front next, will be interesting to see how much better it will be now that i've felt the rear upgrade by itself. Snapped a pic while I was out test riding of the sporty with a Cobra, thought it was a cool pic

I put them in at the full length, measured sag with me on (zip ties around forks -see how far they move up when you sit on it). Then cut spacers to give me more sag as desired, or get longer PVC if you want less.

Thanks for the tip. Called progressive and the guy on the phone said to cut the spacer about a 1/4" above the top of the fork once I had told him I ride two up 65% of the time. He originally told me to cut them flush with the top of the fork. I'm sure he's right but for some reason my BS meter was pinging
