Default Handlebars

I need your advice. I am wanting to change out my stock handlebars on my '07 1200L, but the problem is I'm 4'9" and have already 3 1/2 risers on them. I would like to have them pulled back to a little more. Tell me what you have done or any suggestions that you may have. Thanks.

My next bars are gonna be buckhorns. Just like the style. You may want to go with drags.

mine's onlyan 883 but I have drags with 6 1/2 inch pullback risers. LOVE IT -but I am taller than you. 5'7. You might find it very comfy tho. You might also want to try sitting on several different styles, ie FatBoy; Street Bob; etc and see what feels good.... improvise a little and go from there.

We were trying to measure where I would like my next handlebars, but it is hard to imagine. I've heard that the buckhorns and the handlebars from a Dyna are some suggestions. When I decide what I will get I'll post a picture. Thanks.

My wife has an '07 1200L, so I have given this much thought. The problem you are going to run into is the fact the speedo bracket and top handlebar clamp are one piece. So you can't change the angle of the risers without tilting the speedo too much.

Ideally, I would like to come up with a solution where I don't have to get a new speedo bracket. That being the case, I suggested mini apes to her, but she didn't think too much about that. So I am thinking I may have to bite the bullet and find a new speedo clamp. [:@] I don't know if any of this helps, but I needed to get it off my chest.

BTW, the handlebars you have now are buckhorns.

My 2003 came w/Buckhorns. I really like them. My wife and I have been thinking about another Sportster for her, but I don't see that any of the current Sportster models come w/Buckhorns.

Interesting; those are basically the same bars as the ones on the '07 1200L but look to be a few inches taller. I didn't realize they had taller ones in that style...good to know.
