Sounds like you found the culprit. Good luck with the tank coating. I think there are some other coatings better recommended than Kreem, but I can't recall the names. Maybe search here or over on xlf, they probably have some threads on coating tanks. I do recall reading some posts with several options mentioned.

Congratulations!!! It's so much better finding something than still going nuts over it. That's what I felt like after I cleared the crud from my pilot jet passages and (miraculously) ended my carb problems.

Finished getting rid of the old falling apart liner and rust in my tank. Filled the tank up, and fired her up, and she ran like she should! Thanks for all your help people it's finally fixed! Now to ride!
