Then did the rejetting to CVP instructions right to the tee, I might add the directions were excellent, reinstalled the carb and low and behold.....would not start. The bowl was full but no gas to the intake of the carb. So I ordered from CVP, some carb parts, slide with diaphragm, accelerator pump, ez-fast idle screw, already have the ez-fuel screw, and intake manifold Gaskit. Well , added all the parts, and low and behold the accelerator pump was totally destroyed. Ok reinstalled carb and was real hard to get started. Finally after about an HR of messing with the mixture screw I got her running. Went for a ride and went about 2 blocks it bogged down and stalled out and never started again, have to push her home. Been playing with the fuel mix for days and she was always hard to start but I got her running. Well myself and 3 others on Weds. ( yesterday ) were riding from Cape Coral to Cafe 27, and I figured.....good run I can tune the carb in on the trip. Well she bogged down and carb coughed, did a little adjustment, hard starting mind you but got her going again, and now back fired thought the exhaust, adjusted less fuel. So this went on for 3 times bogging down and pulling off the road side. What a PIA ! And this is in the coarse of about 15 - 80 Mls . I think the last to next time she bogged down at around 24-25 RPMs but ran great when I jumped on her. I figured ah to much gas, so backed the fuel down a bit, still hard to start up , took off and holy cow she's running really good, now we're on state Rd 80 1 mile fron 27 and she Boggs down again, I'm doing 65 Mls per hr.... out of gas, turn to reserve and she goes for about 1/4 mile and bogged out again. Well my friends ride and get me a gal. Of gas and ended up killing the battery because she wouldn't start. Got ahold of my son and being a great guy he leaves work and take a 1.5 HR ride with his truck and picks me and my scoot up and gets me home, what a guy! Now I have TTI's from DK Customs and want to know if before I even attempt to see what's wrong should I take the baffles out, install the TTI 's then start the process of figuring out my problem so when I start adjusting fuel mix with them in? And maybe someone could give me some advice on the problem I'm having.
No, I would get the issue of it running taken care of first. Once that is resolved, then install the TTI's.

Did you try running it without the gas cap on? Did not notice, have your cleaned/changed the fuel filter?

Thanks for the response, Tues. is my day off so I'm going to check the gas cap, and filter, if that doesn't do it I guess I'll drop the carb and check and blow out the jets just in case any partials from the disintegrated accelerator pump has clogged up any thing. Then slap her back together and hope for the best. Then hopefully I can install the TTI's into the SE11's slip-ons. Any t ips you can give me on taking the baffles out. Thanks

Sounds like a plan!

On SE II slip-ons, there should be two fasteners at the tail end of the baffle, remove those fasteners and the baffle should slip out. Might need a little persuasion with some WD-40 and a long pipe or screw driver from the engine side of the slip-on.

Hec! Well not so good, cleared all lines jets, everything, got her going, and thought I got it. She was running with out the AC for about 5 mins or so, so I shut her down and installed the AC, and the trouble again began. I must be over looking a leak or something. What's the best way of finding one. Oh by the way, that tower with the tiny hole....( in the throat of the carb ) no fuel comes out just the fuel coming out of the hole in the middle where the slide needle is, should gas be coming from the tower also.

Yes, thats the accellerator pump and should squirt feul toward the slide when the throttle is twisted. The lack of fuel will make it go lean and backfire, buck, and even stall out. Also make sure the slide needle jet is in correctly. This is the little metal piece in the center of the throat where the needle goes. It must extend into the throat anout 1/8 to 3/16 in. If it is flush in the throat, no fuel and a lean mixture will cause the same backfiring and bucking. (Cost me $40 this past week to get this little bit of info in order to fix a 2004 that had been cleaned by another "mechanic"! This was after taking it apart three tomes for cleaning) But your description tends to lead to the accellerator pump jet being clogged.

I agree, be careful pulling it and make sure it's aligned correctly (point the spray at the needle) when you reinstall and clean it all out.

Are you using a gasket that has 4 holes in it...3 for the fasteners and another that lines up with the hole on the face of the carb? That hole cannot be blocked.

That's exactly what's happening, bingo!
How does that " tower " " jet " come out?

DK, yes Gaskit is good to go, do I need a Gaskit on both sides of the mounting bracket for the AC or just the carb side
