Default Do your external breather bolts spit oil?

I got the DK Customs air cleaner kit and external breather bolts for my '06. After riding, I'm finding oil droplets on the back of my air cleaner, which drip down onto the engine case. I checked to make sure my oil tank is not overfilled. A fellow at the local HD shop said it is normal. Just wondering what you guys' experiences are concerning this. Thanks.

Yes, Mine did. Never around town but at highway speeds, yes.
I think each bike is different, I loved the look but finally gave up and ran and external breather with filter below the bike.

Yes, mine do as well.
Proper level and oil weight, still get drips on pipes every ride.
Exploring options.

The thread below may be useful to you.

This one has good info in it also.

On a Sportster, on long, hot runs, it is normal for there to be a little misting, but not enough to run or drip.

Mine always spit a little more than I liked. Even had trouble with horseshoe style breathers clogging up on the portion that goes against gravity.

Switched to individual S&S breathers and I get a good oil goop after long runs, but it still doesn't add up to more than about 10oz of oil over 5000 miles. Perfectly fine in my eyes.

The hole in the outlaw breatherbolts in my set were about 3 times larger than factory. There was almost no oil in the factory ham can when I pulled it.
I think it is just a tax on having a better breathing engine. Will live with it until options reveal themselves.

Just wipe the drool off the old girl's chin and keep getting up. The hot oil mist caught up in the air drops out, collects and then drips out...Perfectly normal on these 2 cylinders. My Yamaha actually has a pocket in the air box with a hose attached with a plug.
My Harley just keeps the air filter washed out!? HA As designed, the air flow is being pushed into the intake only by atmospheric pressure of about 15 lbs to fill the vacuum created by the falling piston and truly draws in little oil other then a fine mist.

I should have said on stock or Stage I they should not mist enough to run or drip. With a built engine, there is more pressure, and one of the External Breather Systems at this LINK will work better, keeping oil off your engine.

Thanks...We do include an extra set of filters with the Breather Bolts. Using them, in addition to what is already in there, might make enough of a difference to keep the excessive misting down.

If it does not, and you have a stock or Stage I Sporty, then please read the links in my previous post above...something else is going on that should not be if you are getting enough oil for it to drool.
