Sportster 1200 tuning
The bike is an 09 1200c with rush 1.75in slipons, figure machine intake( like screaming eagle intake), with a pcv fuel programmer. I just used one of the flash files that power commander had on their website. It seems to run fairly decent no popping etc. fuel mileage is around 35 city only, which I've always thought was kinda low. My dads 07 1200xl with only v&h shortshots gets mid to upper 40s all day long. Im curious am I leaving any power or mpg on the table by not having the hd dealerer remap it for me?

I have a '09 1250 with a heavy wrist, Power Vision with Target Tune, gobs of power, and I get 42-46 in city riding.
You are not going to get as good of a tune out of the PCV, but you should get much better than the 35 mpg.
I would do two things right off-
Make sure you are not running too low of RPM (that will hurt mpg) and contact Dynojet and see about getting a different map.
Having a dealer remap it for you will Not help the PCV tune, nor will discarding the PCV and going with a dealer map help you.
Here is a LINK with useful information about tuning options.

Dsrieth,
I have a 2008 1200XLC and originally got around 45 MPG. After many changes, now gets around 40, the power vision was the newest update and has made some difference in overall operation, economy, power, smoothness of the engine so I would not worry too much about the 35MPG, not great but you may need to better tune the bike as I did after a rebuild.
The initial tunes on the different websites for tuners are a starting point but not the end as they enrich the fuel for a better running engine and other tweeks.
Good luck,
.

Agree with Kevin of DK.
I run Arlen Ness Inverted AC, Rush 3" with 2" baffles, PowerVision tuner. I get 35 - 46 mpg depending on riding conditions...more on the lower side of the mpg range since I always ride in traffic. I also ran Outlaw AC and a V-stack with the same results. I also ran SEIIs and another aftermarket exhaust system with the same results.
