Default Worst thing you have done to your Sportster

During my idea of chopping it, I had installed 14" ape hangers with 3 inch risers and a person told me "Now your speedo and tach looks like Mickey Mouse ears" between those bars (I hate him so much now) so I took them off and sold them. BIG MISTAKE.

Bought a aftermarket speedo and then I had too mount it someplace cool like on the side of my bike where it's hard to see at a glance but hey it's cool there. The after market speedo sucks, only works when it feels like it and now that hunk of garbage is mounted between my bars where I can see it when It wants to work.
Oh and my turn signals do not cancel now!
The worst thing I ever did to my bike.

Never ever let my mitts near wiring on your scoot. Even the Harley manual has a pic of me with a warning.

Worse thing was not riding my Sporty for 2 1/2 months. Did it when I first got my King. I ride year round in NC, so now the most it's been idle is about 2 weeks.

Im sure most of you know by now but the worst thing I did to my 48 was to "upgrade" the engine with a Zipper's Perfoemance "Hammer 88" cubic inch kit. Had problems with it straight from the beginning and they never got resolved. Best thing I ever did was to trade it for my new Roadster and be done with the hell I brought upon it. I will miss that bike and hope someone gets it in good working order. The dealer took on a mess with that one and did so with a fake smile knowing what they were getting into. Many thanks to those guys ay Santa Fe Harley.

Intermittent speedometer and signals not canceling is an indication of a bad speed sensor. Easy fix. Google or youtube.

Trying to 'bobberize' the Sporty I used to have ! Cut half the rear strut arms off and when the time came to sell her no one would buy it. Had to practically give it away !...b.

Parked it in a dark, lonely storage unit in Daytona while I ride my RK back home.

Poor thing is waiting for March and Bike Week as much as I am!
