Default My Humble Iron 883

Hello, I'm new to the forum and I thought I would just introduce myself and my bike. This is my first Harley (actually mi first bike) ever so I wanted to start with a small engine. It is a 2012 Iron 883. I got it pretty much stock but as soon as I got it I started doing some mods until I made it my own. Tell me what you think.... List of mods as follows:

Screaming Eagle air intake
Vance & Hines Short Shots exhaust (didn't like the heat shields so I wrapped them)
Vance & Hines FPK 3 tuner
Coil & ignition key relocation
Gas tank lift
Speedometer relocation
Chopped/bobbed rear frame & fender
Corbin solo seat
Biltwell tracker bars (upside down)
Cheap ebay front turn signals
Headlight grill

Welcome! The 883 is not a small bike. Remember, when the Sportster 883 was first introduced in 1957 it trounced the British 650's which were among the most popular bikes, and Harley's largest engine at the time was a monstrous 1200.

Welcome to the forum... from the great central valley of California. I have a sporty 883 custom. Because of the weight-to-horsepower ratio, it actually has more get-up-and-go than my softail.

Very nicely 883. Does it ever feel like you are sliding off the bike?

Thank you all for welcoming me to the forum. All the Harley people I know tried to talk me away from getting a sportster as they say it is a "women's bike". I understand it is smaller and everything but I really like the styling. Probably a little underpowered (IMO) but I like the way it sounds, feels and handles. I'm looking forward to learn more and more.

I do some times. I guess people in my area are used to see ape hangers rather than upside down bars and they always ask about that.

When I first started riding with that seat, yes, ALL THE TIME!!! but I feel like one simply gets used to it to where as now I don't even notice/feel that sliding sensation.

Looks good. Now if you like the old school look do a chain conversion. I went to a 530 chain on my 1200 and I love the look. Belts are for holding your pants up, chains are for racing.
