I'll keep the sporty and eventually get a low rider or heritage. I dont get rid of much I still have 2 cars from high school, a 67 Mustang and a 68 El Camino.

A glide is great. Drove my last one 16 hours straight to Sturgis. A Cadilac.

I could not blink my eyelids after that ride but my butt was ok .

Don't think I'll ever sell my Sportie. I may one day get a Electraglide as a second bike for long trips. So what do you think?
you rode for 16 hours straight and didnt go down? truly amazing!!

Most likely I will not. I have done too much work, and it being my first Harley, I will keep it to ride around town and such if I ever do get a bigger bike

I don't see much of a need in "trading". You nearly always come out loosing money compared to selling your vehicle yourself and buying then next one outright. Dealers don't want trades. The best deal is made without a trade in nearly every case.

Anyway, I rode a Sporty as a regular ride for 8 years. It took me from 1994, when the first Road King came out and I decided that was the bike for me to 1999 for me to get in the financial spot to be able to buy a Road King without giving up the Sporty. I did it, though. I'm glad of it. Now both of them arelong paid for and I have no regrets of keeping both.

My original plan was to trade the Sporty for a RoadKing in March. But after almost a year, and 14,000 miles of pleasure (mostly pleasure), I just couldn't bring myself to trade. Until I can talk the "Secretary of War & Finance" into my having 2 motorcycles. The comfy touring bike will have to wait.

I ride for fun and the Sportster is the most fun of all bikes to ride IMO. She's a keeper and not a trader. [sm=closed.gif]

I've ridden pretty much every size bike there is from a home made motor scooter to a new GL Gold Wing. The Sportster I have is the most fun bike I've had that I can remember. I have no plans on swapping for anything else. Now, if I could have a stable of bikes that would be a different story.

I agree with all those who would keep the sportster as a second bike. It is just too much fun to ride and I for one can never see myself getting rid of it, but then again, never say never.

I think the Sportster and a Road King are two of the best bike to own at the same time. You have the best of both worlds and they really do compliement one another. I can see a nice Vivid Black King sitting in my garage someday
