Default 2016-2017 Front Fender RIVETS..

I saw people removing front fender and keeping the brace on youtube but they had small screws or something that you can remove without breaking anything.

Now im taking off my front fender and I cant take off the brace cause its riveted to the fender ...

Anyone know a way I can take theses off without doing damage to the fender ?

And if I wanna put my fender back on anyone know the name of theses little thingy ?

I swear I wish I had experience with a used bike before starting to play on a 2017 one

dont think they use the brace from the actual fender. there are braces available online that stabilize your forks. might have to go with one of those

If you want to use the fender brace, drill the rivet heads off. Use a good quality and the correct size drill bit. If you are no good with a drill, let someone else drill it for you.
You don't want the bit walking and damaging the fender.

Just drill the rivets from the back, there is already a hole to get you started, you could also grind them from the back with a dremel tool.
The bracket probably won't do anything as a brace though, if you really want a brace that actually stiffens the forks you should just get a proper fork brace.
By the way I removed my front fender once, the first time I got into some rain I put it back on, it's amazing how much water it does control when riding in the rain.

Buy yourself a separate brace and put your unspoiled fender somewhere safe until you refit it. As Hotlap points out, that may not be very long!

Ok I can see many people had bad expenrience with no fender ... I hear puting a bandana tight around the forks can help reducing the water going up ... also im never riding in the rain except if I get caught .

I checked braces on Ebay , Amazon and other website ... So far I found 3-4 model ans so far I just really dont like them .

If I can find rivet that looks the same or similar I will drill my fender if not I wait to find brace that I actually like .

I heard that removing the fender and puting no brace is really weakening the fork .

Thanks for all your replies .

I didn't notice any difference in "fork flex" when I had my fender off and I ride pretty aggressively.
