Default School me on wheels

So I'm not sure what used wheels will fit my 2006 sportster. There is a used front wheel on the sportster classified section on this site. Looks like it's off a 2012 72. I know the wheel is a little taller than my stock but will still fit that way. I guess I'm wondering is the hub the same width and still take the same size axel? I'd like spoked wheels with the rim powder coated black. Looking like the cheapest way to go will be to buy used and have the rim powder coated. I have no idea how to lace the wheels after that so I'd probably have to take it somewhere to have it redone.

I guess a second thing I have to consider is it the same brake rotor and if not the same wife will my stock rotor bolt up so I don't have an issue with the caliber fitting up

Harley went metric in 2008 (i think)
07' and older used inch (3/4" up front and 1" out back I think)
in 08' they went to 25mm both front and rear.

From what I have read, if you change the bearings in a newer wheel (install older model bearings) then all you need is proper spacers and you should be good to go.

Sometime around 2014 they changed the rotor diameter, but i think '13 and older rotors should be okay. Going off memory here though so your going to want to verify this.

FYI - Cheapest way to get black rim/spokes on your bike would be to find an OEM 2007 Nightster rim. 19" and still used SAE axels so almost no changes should be required. (Assuming your '06 has the same width front end as the nightster)

Sporty axle sizes by year:

Fronts axle:
'00 - '07: ¾"
'08up: 25mm

Rears axle:
'00 - '04: ¾"
'05 - '07: 1"
'08up: 25mm

To avoid having to change bearings & spacers on your 06, look for wheels from the following years:

Front - 2000-2007
Rear - 2005-2007
