slash downs are longer and quieter....slash outs are shorter and louder....you choose...

But I have a spare set of both the slash down and slash out SE2 mufflers for my Softail, and the length is exactly the same.
The only difference is that mounting tab(s) on the mufflersare mounted in a different location on the mufflers to position them when mounted for a slash down, or slash out look.
That and the engraving on the pipes is at a different location depending on the type.

I have slash out (balony cut) was a touch loud to my liking when I first got them but it did not take long to get use too.Good Harley sound and a LOT quieter then the V&H.By the way good luck getting them I swear I got the last set in North America it took me a month to locate a set and that was 3 weeks ago

I like the balony cut.To me they look better, plus they won't kick up crap from the road. Also when your next to some schmuck cager you can blast in there direction.I know I have V&H straightshots, but they did come with turn out tips.I just didn't put them on cause they were just too long looking with them on.But if I had got the SEII's I would go with the balony cuts.
