Default screaming eagle street performance slip ons

I think i have decided to go with the 50 state legal s e slip ons , but do not really want to pay the msrp of $299 for them , any body know of a dealer that is running these on special. Thanks. P.S. DO NOT plan on changing out the air cleaner at this time , so am hoping that a remap is not needed, this is for a 07 roadster 1200

I have them on my 1200L ...I didn't do the remap since not A/C mods are in the plan. It took about 5 miles for the computer to adjust to the new pipes...but all is good.

I think quite a few people may buy these mufflers and then decide they would rather have something else so maybe buying a "hardly used" set may be your best bet.

I was going to buy the Slash Out style of SE-SP but after talking with my dealer twice and asking him specificly if the HD-SE would need a remap or computer he said "you must have a tuner for any mods you do, on an '07, because of the EFI" several other local dealers told me the same thing.

I was going to buy V&H Straightshots but after finding out that I may need a 400 dollar tuner I said forget it, but now I think I am going to call Harley themselves and ask what needs to be done for slip-ons on an '07, HD or Aftermarket. My dealer also told me that even with just slip-ons the bike would run like sh*t, load plugs and chambers, and hurt the bike over time...I honesly think he is just trying to get me to buy a tuner...hence "stealers"

I know that this has been covered several times on these forums but there is a large gray area here for '07 sporties because of the first year for EFI on them.

I think most people who upgrade their mufflers do it to get a little more volume and that "Harley sound". From what I hear about the new mufflers they are hardly any louder than the stock ones since they have to meet decible level requirements for all 50 states.

if all you are doing is adding slip-ons....the computer can reconfigure itself....if you change the A/c to allow more air .... then you have to remap...like I said it took about five miles of riding for my computer to reconfigure itself but after that there is no popping or sputtering...

Will the computer figure it out for Genuine and Aftermarket?

I ask because aftermarket slip-ons allow a lot more flow, relieving more back pressure.
