Default New exhaust on 2016 Iron 883

I'm purchasing new exhaust pipes the Bassani sweepers, for my 2016 iron 883. I was planning on switching out the pipes myself, however I don't know if there is anything else I need to do. I've read different sites that say it should be tuned and to buy this or that, and others that say to basically just plug and play. So my question is which one is it? Everything on the bike is stock up to this point. Any help would be appreciated.

A fuel module (tuner) will help even a stock bike run better. A module is recommended with even a pipe change, but not required. If funds are tight the Fuel Moto Micro at $199 is a great budget tuner, and stores up to ten maps. Unlimited maps and support.
Fuel Moto also sells higher dollar tuners at good prices with the same support.
The thing I like about the Micro is price, quality of the product, and the ability to store several maps. You can have a map for pipes only, and another for the same setup plus air cleaner

There are several other tuners in the $450 range that will auto tune the bike, and is more versatile for cam changes.
Just depends on your budget.

I run Bassani sweepers and you will definitely need a tune after. If you don't you will lose a lot of low end and will have crazy pops on decel, even more so if you run without baffles. I run both the exhaust and AC.

On a side note, I just recently got pulled over for excessive noise and a fix it ticket for modified exhaust. Switched out back to stock and will soon be putting the Bassani's back on. I use a V&H fuel pak III and it has been great in re-mapping to stock, but also for any other setup you may have. Done by bluetooth on my iphone and takes minutes to switch maps.
