Default Why can't I find pegs that fit xl1200x except at the dealer?

Partly because I searched and can't find a good answer and partly because I need to have at least 5 posts before I can post pics I have a question. Why is it that every set of pegs I look at fits everything except the XL1200X? I'm looking for black knurled pegs, grips, shifter peg and seat screw if anybody can point me in the right direction besides the dealer.

What's so special about the XL1200X that pegs don't fit? Is it something that I can easily modify normal pegs?

Thanks.

We have a lot of pegs that will fit your XL1200X...see them HERE.

A few years back, HD started using a non-standard clevis on some of their bikes, like your 48. Since it is the clevis on the bike that is non-standard, the clevis is what needs to be modified, not the pegs.

You can either get some of the pegs in the link above that will fit the 48, you can grind off the extra metal on the clevis to allow them to accept standard pegs, or you can get a Conversion Kit that will allow your 48 to use standard pegs.

See Conversion Kit HERE.

Looks like I'll be ordering the conversion kit soon. Thank you!

BTW, your Forty-Eight build is amazing. Gave me plenty of ideas for mine.

it's a pain but you have to change the offset clevis before you can change the pegs.
Can't fault the DK Customs kit

I ordered a set of pegs a few months ago, and found that i couldnt mount them due to a side of the peg mount being longer than the other. Well now i know what is up with that.

Click this LINK and you will see a bunch of pegs that fit the non-standard peg mount (clevis).

You can use the conversion kit to be able to mount any peg, but there are a bunch of pegs at the link above that you can mount Without having to change the offset clevis.

If you own a an angle grinder you can simply grind down and reshape the longer clevis to match the other, I did mine. It took about 10 minutes and best of all, was free.
