Default Air Pressure - Pirelli Night Dragons

What air pressure are folks that own Pirelli Night Dragons using for the front and rear tires? I have a set of stock size (100F/130R) and was using 30/40 for front/rear so far. Anyone run the front a bit higher?

John

I run my Night Dragons with the air pressure stated on the tires.

The psi listed on the sidewall of the tire is the MAXIMUM recommended inflation pressure, and not typically the correct pressure based on the weight of the bike & rider (load). Many of the tires we use on a Sporty are the same tires used on a bagger with a 2up rider load which obviously would require a higher pressure.

38 (F) / 40 (R) is recommended for solo, 42 (R) for 2up

Thankls for the information. I guess I'm running the front a bit low.

You'll notice a difference at 38.

Great tires. Going back to scorcher from dragon was no fun. I'll be getting new sets pretty soon.

Yes, very happy so far. Once I get my front rim slow leaking issue solved I'll really be rolling along.

When using aftermarket tyres it is wise to check their website, as many brands give that info. Also note that not all brands use stock pressures as in the owners manual.

This is crazy good advice! I never looked at the Avon website but have been running Avon Cobras at the factory recommended air pressure of 30F/40R just to now find out Avon recommends 36F/39R. Looks like I'll have to give that a try. I feel so stupid for never looking into this some more.

Nick, I've been using Avon tyres on my Harleys since the 1970s and never tire of passing on that advice!
