Default OTD price for 2016 iron 883 . To buy a not to buy

Hi, I live in south california. This week I come to a couple of Harley Dealer looking for my first bike, the iron 883. So far I got 2 deals:
- $9800 otd
- $10500 otd plus $1000 gift card.

I came to the store with mind set that if they can do $9000 (plus gift card for helmet_or not) I would take the bike right away.

They said that my price is not "reasonable, realistic..."

Consider that the 2017 models will release next Tuesday. What do you think?

Thank you.

Comes down to supply and demand. If they have more than a few on the showroom floor you have the advantage, especially with the '17 coming out. If they are regularly getting MSRP for them then they have no incentive to deal. I would stick to my guns and see what happens when the 17 models arrive.

Call other dealerships within a reasonable drive time and see if another dealer can beat their price.
I always make the initial deal over the phone and not on the showroom floor.

Yup.. lol

Sometimes little wait and research if worth it.

They will have to lower those '16s when the '17s hit, or nobody will buy the '16s. Give it time, or do what most of us did and buy it used

Thanks for the replies.
First, for sure I will buy that bike men, but I never buy without a "reasonable price"
I will for the 2017 realease and come back for a new 2016.
But do you think until then $9k otd is still reasonable or I will be a fool paying that price for old model?

P/s: how about their price, will I be a fool paying $10k for an old model? (I think yes!)

You are talking about a 10% difference. Go with your gut, and enjoy whatever you decide.

First one to talk loses. Place an offer, walk away. Almost guaranteed they'll call back. I don't see you trying to lowball them.
