A-HA! I have figured it out. According to another thread, some members have reported that the rear of the fender can hit the frame/horn/regulator when the suspension bottoms out. Harley put the hole there to mount a big rubber bump stop on the fender! See, it just took a little while to figure it out. Er, um, does anyone know the part number for the bump stop? Do they make it in titanium? I would like to see the sparks fly off when it hits.

Wrong, it's there to mount an optional tread cleaner for your front tire. As the tire rotates, little bristles clean the treads out of all debris, making your front tire more stable.
Trust me. I don't know what I'm talking about... ...I sell these, by the way, only $199.95, cash only...

Wrong, it's there to mount an optional tread cleaner for your front tire. As the tire rotates, little bristles clean the treads out of all debris, making your front tire more stable.
