Got gas today well into my gas light (about 30 miles later) and got 3.8 gal. But it had stuttered on accelerating. So I started getting anxious.
Only question is I have a different fuel cap. Wondering if I need to burp it to get more out of it.

 

Normally 1 gal....what does "well into my gas light" mean. You went 30 miles after your gas light went on or you got gas well before it went on.

rather than wait until your gas light goes on, get your mileage per gal and fill when you hit mileage before the light goes on. For example, I have a 4.5 and get about 30-35 miles per gal...that is 150-175 to empty from full...so I fill when I traveled 120 miles or earlier depending on gas station availability.

 

My light came on @110 miles.
I was at 130 when it stuttered.
I get about 36mph so I know at 110 or so I'll have to start looking but odd that I had 0.8 that it was having issues.

 

pushed my 4.5 gal about as far as I could, finally got 175mi on the tank, and @ 43 mpg, hit 4Gal on my refill. 0.5G left is about as far as I think I could push the EFI.
