Sorry to say, but never had the privilege of riding that route. Sounds like one heck of a great road!

Ride safe!

I drove the Dragon twice this Thursday in my Scion XB just to see what it was about. There were a lot of sport bikes that were going insanely fast and not so many Harleys who were riding at a more sedate pace. The Nissan 350Z Club was out in force, I got passed by two of them but everyone else was just driving at a "brisk pace" like myself.
The most challenging part I would say is not becoming distracted by the fast bikes coming up behind you and the fast movers coming down at you from above. You have to stay smooth, and focused on the road ahead.

I hope to ride it on my Nightster some day, but I want to do it with a real mellow group of folks! There is too much opportunity to get caught up in the adrenaline rush of the crowd and ride way over your head.

I live in WV and have also ridden the dragon.Route 60 through Hawk's Nest Mountain is very similar to riding the dragon. Not as many curves but very similar in ride and scenery to the dragon. Both are very much worth riding if you are in either area.Hope this is helpful.

I live in WV and I can Say I LOVE riding RT 33, fun as can be. Route 60 is good too for a little stretch (sig pic is taken at Kanawha Falls at the bottom of the mountain). I would imagine they are like the dragon but going straight up/ down hills! Like Hillbilly said, the scenery is great, especially at Seneca (RT 33). I need to visit the dragon someday.....but thats a LLLOOOOONNNNNGGGG ride on the Nightster! MAN I love WV!!

These pics do the Rocks no justice.

Haven't rode that Route 33, but it's now on my list of future rides. Been on the Dragon many times. Most fun you'll ever have with your clothes on.

I have ridden the Dragon on my bike since the earlier post that I made on this thread, it was a blast! A real adrenalin rush, for sure. Here's a couple of pics....

Did the dragon this Monday (to avoid the sportbikers), had a blast. That whole area is great riding particularly the Cherohala Skyway. I'll have toadd route 33 to my list of weekend must do's.

+1

I enjoy the Cherohala more than the Dragon. But, since I start on the TN side of things, the best way to get to the Cherohala is via the Dragon. Usually via the Foothills parkway, which is a good warm up ride.

My signature pic was taken on the Dragon.

Hi, I've been down to Seneca Rocks with the bikes and the ride is fantastic coming from the Eastern Panhandle. Rode Smoke Hole Road which is very close to being WV equivilant of the Dragon. Love these roads..............WVleo
