Moaner
Hello everyone;
I just had the 1000 mile service done, and at the same time I had the stage 1 SE AC installed, along with V&H Short Shot Staggered exhaust.The bike is now unbelievably faster.
I am havinga couplesmall problems though, and I thought someone that had done the same thing may be able to help. I have had the exhaust for about a week now, and they perform relly well. I do however think I may have an exhaust leak. Mostly when cold, and that tells me that when they expand, the leak seals.
The other problem is a low pitched moan at shut down. Everything was done at the Harley dealer, Glendale Harley, Glendale,Ca, and am thinking of having them take a second look at it.
The moan started the day Irode it home, and has continued. Also, they remaped my fuel injection, and I think it's a little off. I can't maintain a slow speed without missing.
I am buying the quieter baffles, and hope to quiet it down -Just A Little

RE: Moaner
If there is an exhaust leak it might be where the pipes fit over the crossover tube. There is a metal gasket there, it would expand when it gets hot. Easiest way to check this is to shred up some paper and put under the exhaust below the crossover connection. The start the bike. If the paper blows away...BINGO..there's your leak.
If you happen to have it, some of that really light stuff used in potting soil works even better than the paper.
