Default 2016 Roadster photo dump/build thread

Figured I would collect the many photos I've taken in one big thread. There's kinda a lot of them ...

This is bone stock after we unloaded her from the truck.

After the LED installs.

After the D&D Bobcat install.

After the SE Rail air cleaner install.
Also after the black levers, black get-a-grips and security install.

As you can see I took a ridiculous amount of shots of the wheels and caliper mounts thinking I could use them as a judge of caliper - wheel spacing. Well, photos kinda suck for this, use a protractor next time...

More definitely on the way.

Default 2006 vs 2016

My boss just sold his 2006 Roadster...I was sad to see it go since it's got a built motor with about 90 hp at the wheel...amazing bike for it's time.

Tho here you can see the huge difference between the two bikes. Two different eras and philosophies at work.

SE heads, cams, 10.5 pistons, Mikuni flatside 42 carb, D&D Bobcat. That bike proved to me you can have a fast Sportster and led me on this path.

Philosophies ... i dont like that digital speedo guage nonsense. It washes out in the sun. Lots of goodies in there (gas guage, etc) but, it takes away from the purity delivered by the dual guage setup. Clean data delivery, no matter the conditions.

Tell me more about this "gas gauge"...wish it had that but it doesnt. And yeah the washing out at dusk is really bad can barely see how fast I'm going. I plan on having a chat with Tech Services at Harley soon(perks of working for a dealer...) to see if it can be programmed for always orange backlit because that looks great and it's easy to read.

What... its not there? Why would they remove that for this one combo unit? I stand corrected and shocked. That's crazy.

The PNA speedo has a gas gauge, but this one is all new for this bike only. I'd rather have this one though since the tach really has a clean look to it, and the PNA one with all the color options is just...it's just fugly.

Madness,

I can't believe they would strip out the goods. Seems crazy.

There is an option to set colors on the other version, may still work here:

After a couple of double-takes, it does appear that it's the same gauge just with a sleeker face. I'm going to see if there is a function for fuel gauge in the BCM settings soon. I'll try the color settings as well but I have doubts it will work. Manual says backlighting is controlled by an ambient light sensor(just like PNA gauge...). Worth a try.
