V&h or python slip ons
So I bought a brand new iron sporty last year. Needless to say, I prefer to have some mark bark. Was looking at the v&h slip ons and a guy at my local hd told me about python. Both have great reviews. Python actually cheaper and louder. I just don't want it to be annoyingly loud. V&h twin 3" slash and python 2 1/2 slash cut. Both slip ons. Any insight???

Thanks man. I want loud, just not annoying loud. Guy at hd said pythons were louder. After reading reviews, not sure if that's exactly what I want. Consensus with v&h seems to be be perfect tone.

Any reason why you are limiting your choices to V&H and Pythons? There are a lot of choices out there. I guess it depends on what you are trying to accomplish sound, performance, looks, etc.

Here is a site that compares 4 popular brands on a sporty.

I actually bought Bassani's, but it was not compatible on my 2011 1200L so returned them...bassani's did not have crossover ports on the slip-ons.
You could also use your stock pipes, cut off the tapered portion, remove the baffles, and install TTI's....probably the best bang for your buck and the best sound and performance improvement than a slip-on....see DK's video on the thread provided.
But can't go wrong with either V&H twin slash or Python....you will get good volume from either. Not sure about Python but V&H usually has a good deep tone. Make sure Python makes pipes for your year bike. 2014 up exhausts are slightly different e.g. crossovers on the head pipes versus on the slip-ons for earlier models.
Keep in mind sound is subjective.
good luck!
