Pretty sure the museum was open years before J&P was sold. And why should people give them a chance?

Loyalty is a two way Street. They didn't show any loyalty to their Iowa employees.

I was going to order the bat wing fairing for my sportster, don't think I'll bother, if it takes that long to get to US buyers, I will have more chance of dodging an up wind fart than getting my stuff before the white stuff falls.

I agree that the new owners did not show any loyalty to the IA employees. MY post was about the good things John had done as the owner and former owner. Since it was sold I have seen J&P become just about making money and not about motorcycles.

If you read the first post I put up in this thread you will see I highly encourage folks to give their business to the smaller shops that actually still help people if you call them on the phone with a question. If folks just buy a part based on price it won't be too much longer till those small shops are gone and you will be SOL if you want to talk with somebody who actually has turned a wrench on a bike.

I heard from my local Indy that Drag Specialties is also having trouble filling orders. Something with their automated parts picking machine.

I finally filed a fraud complaint with my bank today. Still no refund and no product. I gotta say I'm bummed I had to do that, but my bike has been down waiting for the parts and I don't have any extra money to make another order elsewhere until I get the refund. Ive been using J&P for years...sucks.

I ordered baffles for Cobra pipes from 'em a few years ago, before MAG. I got one, notice that the other back ordered. They dinged my credit card as soon as they shipped the one they had. I called and asked "how long"? Got the run around from 'em. I explained that my bike had two mufflers and one baffle was as good as none. Three weeks later, still no second one, told them to cancel and refund (I got the second one from Cobra in about four or five days). Last time I dealt with 'em..

I'm done with them after waiting 18 days and then receiving the wrong carb kits!!! Just placed another order with Dennis Kirk who has still and always has been great to deal with just as J&P once was. Just wish someone would pick up the slack in the parts area since J&P carried nearly everything.

I ordered tires from them recently, it took several weeks, with no communication, during which time I was grounded. I'll never deal with them again.

I was at JP storefront in Anamosa last weekend and the place was packed! As far as I know when they moved shipping south they offered all their employees jobs at the southern location. I don't order by mail or online 'cause it's a nice ride for me.

Hope you're doing good, samhallnc. Haven't noticed you around for a while. Maybe, I'm just not very observant.
Rock on.
