biking to work
So while waiting for the weather to warm and salt to clear I got to thinking about biking to work. I work in an office building and unfortunetly can't keep an eye onthe bike as much as I'd like.
To those who commute to work work, what kinda lots are your bikes in? What precautions if any do you take? I'm sure I'm a bit on the paranoid sidedue to just getting the bike, but I'd love to maximize my ridingtime!

I park up in a driveway at the office, residential area. I'm also directly under one of the offices security cameras, and I lock both my discs with bright orange and yellow locks. U-lock rear, normal disc lock front. I don't leave anything in my bags that I couldn't part with, I doubt anyone would want the stuff anyways. If someone were to start up my bike, everyone in the office would hear it. Oh and the driveway is sloped and narrow, so it would be a trick for someone unfamiliar with my bike to get it out quickly

I'm idle retired now, but rode a bike to work throughout my working life. Dane has it covered. In recent years I have had an alarm and isolator system on my bikes, my Sportster has the factory system. Add visible security lock/s, also I've never left any luggage on the bike, even on bikes with hard bags. I mostly used a tank bag, which was readily removed, or a soft bag I can easily carry for my bikes with hard luggage. Where to park is down to a lot of things we have little control over and depends on the site and company, but I never had any problems, there is often a quiet corner tucked away somewhere!

I seem to be the odd-ball here again.
I carry:
a full tool roll,
extra oil,
small tire pump,
other misc items in my bags, glove box & trunk.
My helmet is hung over the right mirror and the strap is closed.
By me, in Israel and no-one has ever stolen anything.
I'm 6'1" @ 185, have the look, they will drool all over the bike but never take anything from it, they will steal the one sitting next to it because they know 2 things:
1. I'll kill them and
2. They won't get anything for the bike, too dammed expensive here.
Cheers to all,
.

I'm not sure if I used the correct expression, but some built-in security systems sound an alarm, but also isolate the ignition system, so the bike cannot be jump started. I believe the systems used on Harleys for several years do that, but on my older bikes I've added them, using aftermarket systems.
I've now checked - I mean 'immobiliser'!

I ride to work regularly. my work has a designated "motorcycle parking" area right outside the employee entrance. I have a small tool bag that holds my registration, insurance, and a few tools. it has a "lock" on it but if someone wanted to get into the bag, they easily could cut through it, so I don't keep anything too expensive in there.
I carry my work stuff in a backpack that goes to my desk w/ me
