Default Please help a new girl with a clutch issue

I just bought a 2002 Sportster 883 Custom....my first bike. Is the clutch supposed to be so hard to handle??? Can it be adjusted or the spring changed to make it easier? Please help!!!

hi MJ,
go to the do it yourself help board and look under clutch problem and you'll see a link by TC that will guide you to what you're looking for. the 06 models have made the clutch system easier and you can get the upgrade for older models. good luck and let us know how it all turns out. stay safe

Don't know if anyone mentioned this.. but make sure your cables are lubed. Dry cables are not happy cables.
Your local dealer will probably have a good cable lube on the shelf.

I have adjusted many levers for women. Many time there hands are smaller and it is hard for you to get your hand open far enough, there are levers that have a set back in them that will help you and a easy bopy part will help also. But another thing that will help is a item sold at sporting good stores. It is a spring with two handles on it that you squeez with your hands get oin and wheil driving or watching tv use it . Your hands will become much stronger in a short time. Hell you may even give the guys a tough go on hand shakes
