Default Issue with installing Chrome covers on Rocker boxes

Greetings from India.Has anyone put these rocker box trims on 2014 sportsters.. I had bought these on ebay and got them installed on my Iron 883 some time back but it lead to oil leakage coz the bolt on the top of the rocker box was not fitting properly i was told by the authorized harley service team. However i want to give it another try coz i think it wasnt installed in a right manner by them. Moreover the seller on EBAY is not available anymore so can not go back to him now.. Need suggestions to make this work?

I've had a quick look and can't find them. Are they genuine Harley parts?

Where's the oil leaking from? If they were torqued out of sequence, it could have warped the rocker covers. If they just don't fit, that could also warp the covers.

No mate..These are not genuine harley parts .. I got these on Ebay some time back n the worst part is that the seller has deregistered himself from Ebay. I am intending to chrome most of the parts on my Iron and going for these trims was a much cheaper option that buying new set of chrome hd rocker boxes.

skip that nonsense. you'll just end up creating problems you don't want or need if you continue down this path. i lived through the horror of hamfisting rocker goods.

Fail b: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sport...-helicoil.html

buy the chrome hd/reputable brand parts OR get some aluminium ones and some aluminium polish, a few rags, and some elbow grease. the rocker boxes are far enough away from everything else that, if polished, you couldn't tell the aluminum from chrome unless you were staring for an extended period

if available in your area:

That cheap chrome cover crap will just rust up anyway. You're just wasting your money.
