2014 iron smokes on startup
hey everyone
just finished doing 883 to 1200 conversion with cams and 10.5 :1 pistons
put about 130 kms on it it runs strong but it sat for 2 weeks before the 2nd ride and it had blueish black smoke on startup for about 5 seconds then its fine after that could just be the rings are not set yet?

Rich is black smoke. Blue smoke is oil, but you're not broken in yet, so give it some time.

Blueish smoke for a few seconds at startup after the bike has been sitting for a while (usually days), is symptomatic of a leaky valve guide seal(s). Oil from the rocker boxes can leak past the guide seals and down into the combustion chamber.
I would finish the break-in and see how it does after that.
A quick test for checking the seals after break-in:
On the jiffy stand and with the bike running, give the throttle a good, quick twist open and then slam the throttle closed while watching the exhaust pipes. If smoke appears from the pipes as the motor RPM is dropping, there's a strong possibility the guide seals are leaking bad enough to warrant replacing them.
