I've poked around on the Googlebox and have found plenty of lifted 4.5 gal tanks but everyone seemshould to do a 1-2 inch raise. Just enough to fit the wires up in there. I was wondering is it really ridiculous looking to go higher? Does anyone have pics of the 4.5 hight than 2 inches?

 

I used to have a Virago 1100, the stock tank is at a pretty steep angle and I always though it looked really goofy. I figure the 4.5 gallon lifted too high would look a lot like that.

 

Also 4.5 gal lifted give a considerable amount of weight higher up. A 3.3 or 2.2 gal tank is ok to "lift" so the difference in height is not a big deal.

 

In the following video there are some 4.5 gallon tanks, all lifted by 2".
