Default What Could It Be??

So long story short my 04 Sportster 1200 C was running rough/rich. I changed the exhaust gaskets, changed my slow jet to a #45, main jet is a #180, Adjusted fuel screw to 2 1/2 turns, Adjusted my idle screw, Adjusted throttle cables, replaced gasket between carb and A/C, checked float height, and changed my plugs. I have V&H shortshots with a Stage 1 upgrade with a K&N filter. Bike is running great but today i noticed a small amount of smoke coming from the exhaust and a somewhat strong exhaust smell. Anyone have any idea what it could possibly be? All replies are greatly appreciated.

With a carbed bike, that's normal after start-up, especially if it's chilly out. How long did it go on for? If it's like that even with the engine at normal operating temperature and the enrichener **** pushed in, it sounds like oil getting past the piston rings. Do a compression and leakdown test. That'll tell you how well the rings are sealing. Also pull your spark plugs and look at the coloration - that'll tell you if there's still a rich condition.
