Default Installing breather bolts with SE intake

Ok, so I knew about the oil ingestion with the SE intake, and I have looked inside my throttle body before and saw all the crude in there. So I finally got around to ordering a set of breather bolts form DK Customs. Here is what I did to be able to keep the SE intake which I really likes and also didn't want to buy another intake.

Here is what it looked like inside the throttle body...

So I cut the pieces off that the breather bolts went through to the heads...

I then welded up the holes...

Sandblasted and ready for paint...

All painted...

Got the throttle body all clean...

Since I didn't have a bracket to seat the breather bolts against, I made some spacers out of washers and and painted them...

Backer plate and breather bolts installed on the bike...

And the finished product, went on a 20 mile ride with no issues and no oil blowing out of the breather bolts...

Looks good, but just wondering why you didn't reinstall the factory TB
support bracket since it appears you would have room for it ?

Think it looks something like this

Thanks,

T.

I bought the bike used and didn't have the bracket and I think it would be something else in there to clutter up the look.

They shouldn't...if you keep the oil level in the right spot. I had them installed on another bike with no issues. Plus I didn't want the hoses and filters...to much crap on the motor already.

Every bike is different in how much oil it spits. Most Sportys do not push enough oil to muck up the side of the bike.

But what you're running works great. I've run that on a few of my bikes.

Useful link on the subject here-

Looks really nice. Great work!

You do need to run a support bracket. Either pick up a stock one at a HD Dealer...they should have some laying around, or maybe on ebay.

Or you can get one that we make at this link-

http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/Stea...K-ACI-SBXL.htm

But you need to run one, otherwise all the weight of the throttle body and air cleaner is too heavy, especially after a couple of bumps.
