You do need to run a support bracket. Either pick up a stock one at a HD Dealer...they should have some laying around, or maybe on ebay.

But you need to run one, otherwise all the weight of the throttle body and air cleaner is too heavy, especially after a couple of bumps.

Agreed, thats what I thought too since I've read a few stories of cracking.
But its his bike & he seems determined not to "clutter" it up with the bracket...

Yes, but if that intake cracks, or vibration breaks the seal...miles fm home...you're fk'd. Sorry, but that support isn't much clutter for it's benefit...JMO.
