Ohlins HD145E install question re spacers
I received my Ohlins S36E (HD145E) shocks yesterday and plan to install them this weekend.
For those that have this specific shock on their Sportster (preferably 48) how are the spacers?
Here is the reason for my question: the instructions that were in the box did not have a page 3 (it’s blank). So I went to Ohlins’ website to see if I could find mounting instructions. I did and page 3 is also blank from the online instructions. *shrug*
Anyway, looking at the paper instructions received and what is found on Ohlins website I noticed a difference on how the spacers are placed (outside to inside of bike):
Online instructions: spacer – shock – spacer – bike
http://www.ohlins.com/wp-content/upl.../MI_HD145E.pdf
Paper instructions: shock – spacer – spacer – bike
The instructions found in this link are the same as what I received with the shocks: https://www.partsworldshop.com/light.../MI_HD145e.pdf
What is "correct"?
Thanks for any help.

Well per Ohlins USA it’s supposed to be spacer-shock-spacer (online manual and phone call). However, if I install it that way the bottom right side hits the belt guard attachment point.
I had to use shock-spacer-spacer everywhere.
Not sure if that’s a major issue but any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

FWIW it could be the photograph...
yet to my eye, both spacer example photos make the shock appear that it is cantered.
Just maybe with all this spacer issue, a very thin one is needed on the top mount between the frame and the shock to make the shock vertically level.
I don't know...Harley tolerances..the shock just looks tilted in those photos to me.
Great choice of suspension and good luck to you.

I have to qualify that my picture with the two spacers between the shock and swingarm did not have the top spacers doubled up. Good catch. I was going to mention it that it may "look" canted but it's not. It appears straight on the bike with the top spacers being next to each other.
