Sportster exhaust interconnet

Sportster exhaust interconnet
Need some help from a pro. I am planning to install a set of slip on mufflers, on my 2007 Sportster, 1200 Custom. The new mufflers do not have an interconnect port connection to the crossover muffler bracket.
What do I need to do to make this happen? Do I need to plug the ports on the crossover bracket? If so, how?
I am not replacing the headers, so the O2 sensors will remain in tact.
Appreciate any advice.

I am by no means a pro, but came across the same issue. You should ask the supplier if they have a mounting bracket for the slip-on.
When I bought Bassani slipons for my 2011 XL1200L, it did not come with crossover ports so I returned them and bought something that did so I could keep the stock mounting bracket. I was told that I needed to remove the stock mounting brackets and install something that will mount the new slip-ons.

Here is what one supplier said about the mounting bracket:
This muffler will require the use of a mounting clamp at the head pipe, as well as some kind of support bracket. For support, you can use a 3" center clamp for the diameter of the muffler along with a straight bracket.
Good luck! Post some pics when you are done.

sounds like you got some slip-ons for a older or newer sporty
get some used headers from a newer bike(2014+) off of craigslist or ebay and swap them out with you old one. move your o2 sensors over... done.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...p2045573.m1684
or return the slip-ons.

principle is the same.

I've converted my '07 Sportster into an old school bobber. The only thing left is the stock exhaust. I'm looking at some old school slipon sharktails. I can mount them to the existing bracket with clams, the only question/problem is the interconnect in the crossover bracket. Can I just ignore it or do I need to do something with it?
