Default 1200 custom questions

I have a 2011 xl1200c. It has the eyebrow over the headlight which I found ugly so I took it off. I was wondering if the cover that was there on the older model sporties would fit in its place so then it covers the wires going down.

2005's had the old style headlight. Also check DK Customs for a custom headlight.

Right below the riser cover you can see those two bolts, that is where the cover goes.

This is an older model with the cover I want to put on, I just don't know if they are the same size.

Hey, Is that the GPS holder on your handlebars? What kind? you mind sharing the part number or the name and model of the same? Is it Phone case holder or actual GPS?

Thanks...

Yep, that makes it like the older ones were, I moved mine with the DK Customs relocation kit.

I hate that cover on mine too but when I took it off it looked like something was missing. I'm going to get the DK relocation kit and see what I can do to get mine to look more like stereoguy's

Put on fairings...covers everything...LOL

I used DK Customs relo kit but it does not cover the wires. It does hide it a bit if the headlights are positioned in front of it.

I subsequently relocated my headlight to the lower triple tree...and yes the wires were in plain sight and plain ugly, but like I said the fairings hid everything.

Nice bike and good choice! Sedona Orange, just like mine.

So, are you going to try the DK kit?

I was wondering if the DK kit would raise the light if you had a windshield installed? I've got the quick release windshield on mine and it appears there is an inch or so above the light. I'd like to raise the light, thereby creating more room below so I can install a fork bag. Basically what stereo guy did.

(Not trying to highjack your thread. Since we have identical bikes, I thought it might help us both.)

With the kit you can do a lot of things, raise it, lower it move out.

Thanks, stereoguy. I may have to order one of those up in preparation for riding season.
