Question Increasing vibration?

Hi All

Last couple of rides on my bike have resulted in my hands going numb? Nothing has changed in as much as i'm doing the same commute into work on the same roads. My riding position and grip is the same.

In the past I have found if riding on the highway at a fixed speed i could find my throttle hand numbing, but put this down to gripping the throttle. Now i'm getting it in both hands and even when riding around town? The bike also feels more vibey in general too, even at idle. Engine sounds the same as before though, no new knocking sounds or rattles?

I guess I'll have to get the torque wrench out and do a critical fastner check. I assume that check is every nut and bolt? I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a vibration suddenly develop like this and if so what caused it?

Many thanks.

Best to check the engine mounts for wear and make sure they are torqued to spec.
Hope you get it sorted.

No spokes to tighten, get front wheel balanced. Belts in tire starting to separate maybe. Any change in your diet or health?

Life in Essex is a white knuckle experience at any time or season! We've had a cold snap recently, but weather is a bit warmer of late.

Just to be clear, this isn't a gradual progression. Its manifested it self in the last 120 or so miles?

If it's a 04+ check the front motor mount bolt.. And check for sagging motor mounts!

Hey there,

Check for belt tension or oil on the belt
Check primary chain tension
Check rough feel to engine & trannie bearings
Check tire pressures & tires in general -- try micro-bubles added to the wheel / tire to micro balance for smoother ride
Could be other stuff but this is the standard trouble spots.
Good luck on this.
