The V-Stacks are a nice alternative to the HD heavy breather! Thanks for the link Darryl!

I was thinking maybe one of the DK Customs stack filters would work for the one RPG485 likes on eBay.

Not sure where you got $100...more like $150-$200 depending on what you get. It's the norm unless you cut corners or go cheap...protect your investment. Decisions decision....fun stuff. Good luck.

Hell, we used to just put cones with a screen on our bikes back in the 70's. Never had a problem.

I upgraded to a K&N filter on my FXDC. This eliminated the small amount of carbon residue on the tailpipe. Some swear they feel an increase in power, I did not experience that. All said I am happy with the K&N filter but would like to quiet my V&H pipes.

One option you would have if you're looking to quiet your pipes would be to add a 'Q' model Thunder Torque Insert along with your baffles. With the baffles and 'Q' model installed you will get less sound volume, especially at cruising RPM's and on the throttle. You'd also see an increase in torque in the low and mid range. This link will give you information on properly selecting the size of TTI you'll need for your pipes with baffles: HERE If you have any questions on selecting the proper size for your pipes let me know!

Open velocity stacks on a street bike is a very bad idea......
