Default Can rear brake pedal be adjusted

Just installed forward controls on my Sportster. Wondering if the brake pedal can be adjusted. The Clymer manual doesn't seem to have anything.

It's a 2013 Sportster 72. They come with forward controls stock, but the original owner put mid controls on it. I ordered cheapo forward controls on amazon.com

The linkage for the shifter is fully adjustable. The linkage for the brake pedal is not. The mid-controls that were on the bike when I got it are Harley Davidson parts and that linkage bar was not adjustable either.

If the brake linkage bar is threaded at the ends, then it's adjustable.

It doesn't. I was wondering if the part that the linkage connects to under the bike could be adjusted.

I don't think so on the 13s. If you want to adjust the pedal you will need a threaded linkage bar that can adjust. They are not cheap.

I just installed the HD stock forward control kit on my bike, from what I've read it is the same one they use on '12 and newer 48's and 72's, the brake pedal is not adjustable on that kit but the shift linkage is.

I can't even find adjustable rods for the brakes on the net anywhere. However, the individual pieces to make one could probably be purchased for as low as $20.

All the Sportster rear brake linkage rods on the websites for both mid-controls and forward controls on the Harley website are nonadjustable.

Normally the rear brake pedal is not adjustable which sucks. When I took my bike to the dealership to do some upgrades, I also asked them if they can adjust the position of the rear pedal and they confirmed that it could not be adjusted.

You can buy aftermarket brake rods that are adjustable or you can have one made. Check out this Delboy Garage thread on this topic.

Very true normally they are not adjustable. The only adjustable rod I have seen was on a 06 Sportster. All the others were fixed. The angle that most sets have are standard with functionality and safety in mind.

Not sure why the OP wants to change the angle, but maybe some offset pegs like the ones the 14 Custom model comes with may help. The parts numbers are 51323-08 (Right) and 51327-08 (left).

OP on another issue, don't rely on the Clymer manual. Get the HD service shop manual for your ride. You will save plenty of money in the long run and less headaches.
