Cvaria's 2007 883 Standard (XLCN): Consolidated Thread of Nonsense (Working)
#591
I used the above to set up my mastertune tables.
I assume the above png shots were from power vision.
Also, remember, this was for initial break-in, so I'm sure its
pretty conservative.

you did say mastertune earlier. pvt, i think, is (P)ower (V)ision (T)une. it's the power vision tune file extension. like word files are .doc/.docx
thank you for pointing me at the tune. i would have been chasing my tail for months. i can try to mimic what you have posted, i was looking for other things in the tune though.
i don't want to throw shade on dynojet, i better give them a call in the morning to get an understanding of why they laid these tunes out the way that they did.
here's the dyna mapping.

dynojet directly
spoke to them this morning. They acknowledged 430f is high. Said the same. As T, adjust the 14.6 cells to fine tune... basically, "you are on your own". 😉

Sportsters run much hotter than big twins, because of the temp sensor location. 430f might be a little high, but not that high. Now you need to fine tune. If you want the bike to run richer than 14.6, you can change the AFR table to richer settings if you like.

I would start with your original map (assuming you saved it). Modify displacement to 76cubes, and then add the timing and AFR either from WKNDS or what I post below or mix and match. They're both Hammer derived (I do not own/nor have I created these tables, just passing along Aaron's hard work) for 1250's, but they're MUCH better than what you've got.
After break in with this, then you can autotune it.

Frankly, based on the maps you've posted, I wouldn't touch anything else from them directly. The AFR is all weird, and not smooth at all, and quite high in most places. Same thing with the timing map. There are a lot of places your timing is several degrees too high, IMO. That much timing and that lean AFR will skyrocket those temps, and it is all in the cruise range on your maps.

honestly expains my initial observation. .. the temps are rising while riding rather than dropping. They drop when im at a stand still or throw the bike in neutral while rollling.

the MLS is multi-layered steel. That's what the riveted plates were. Less likely to blow and much higher quality than the older stuff that was there when you tore into the bike. Its good stuff.
