those push rods are pretty the thick... if the package didn't say "for xl 2004+" i'd think there was a problem.

When you get done...come to Baltimore and do mine too please.

Edit: Will also buy dinner!

Then, you can just shoot up 95 and stop by and do mine. I'll even buy dinner!

Default heads appeared

i'm not sure my untrained eyes can spot the differences here. there look the same to me. even the pn is the same, i'm guessing they start with a stock head. the porting is not smooth..is it supposed to be? i compared the two rear heads. only diff i see is springs. edit: actually i sort of see it now. there's less material below the valves and around the perimeter of the chamber.

It's about avoiding "Coil Bind" with a higher lift cam (while also having probably have more spring pressure) . The spring on the Right can be compressed more than Left before all coils are compacted to a "solid"

yeah and the machining work is better, the old one looks like someone started with a radial boring bit and bored out a big circle, the other is actually carved out, juuust around the valves. Less area = more compression!

yeah, i think those are the 18013-03a springs that i was about to install in the stock heads. i was going to sell them off but the stage 4-ish exercise is practice for the dyna upgrades i'm planning next. i think the same spring can be used there. (yes, according to the box as of 2/16)

Just for a 'reference' only, here's some pics of my 1200 heads.....

(Crush Head Porting Service:
This is the premium spring pack standard on the CRUSH
head service which can handle up to .600 lift and is safe to
7500+rpm. It includes a set of PAC Alloy premium beehive
endurance springs that are heat treated, nitrided, shot
peened, and stress relieved for the ultimate in fatigue
resistance and long life. It also includes featherweight
titanium retainers, 1.900 intake,1.615 Exhaust)
