Cvaria's 2007 883 Standard (XLCN): Consolidated Thread of Nonsense (Working)
#1061
Thanks. I'm trying to learn everything that's needed if I decide to get a cooler.
If you got this:
http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/oil-...m#!prettyPhoto
would you still need AN fittings?

Having said that, you dont 'need' AN fittings/hose. You dont
'need' that braided line kit...
AN hoses are my 'preference' is all. I like to make things different
from others and I like the look. Maybe I should stop there...
good luck,

So if it sounds like I'm trying to talk you out of this, yes I am.
Going with AN fittings/hose is NOT an economical solution at all....
Here's an example; In the pic below for my 'external breather'
system, I just bought some new fittings & hose. I already had
some of the fittings (tee & banjo's, yes had bought them previously).
The straight/45 hose ends, 90 swivel-adapter, with 3 feet of hose
was ~$120.00.
Kind of 'overkill' I know...
hth,
(again, sorry cvaria for hijacking thread)
T.(just like to be different)

Just be aware that this is a braided line with clamp covers...

the braided line kit posted by Lewk is the same one i used. DK must be reselling or dropshipping it. The covers look like AN fitting but, just hide the worm drive clamps... its all covered in that install link i post a few posts back.
That braided hose is a PIA but, since those lines are exposed to fast moving road debris gotta protect them somehow. If not braided, find something to shield the lines. Better that than to have really fkd up day. My hose shot off the cooler and it was a nightmare. A debris mayhemed hose whould be worse... theres no fixing it.

the dk link you posted has it all together with end covers and link couplers but, if you go to jaggs site and look in acessories its all separate.

If you get mixed up, call jagg and talk to Marvin. 740-625-6228.

No I wasn't gonna assemble anything myself. I was just gonna buy something that's ready-made. Like these hoses from DKCustom:
BUT I would only buy them if it offers much better reliability than the stock rubber hose that comes with the cooler. And on that, cvaria was ambivalent.

3/8 90 banjo came
threw it on and be bleed the front brakes
re-bleed the rears cus... it's a big bottle of dot 4.
looks better than the natural steel look of before and the front brakes are now meaner than ever. the feel is nearly just like the dyna now i think it is slightly softer because the calipers are different. but the tee isn't work. i thin i just need to go with a smaller traditional pre-routed one.

It may seem like we are giving you contradictory responses but, there's no one size fits all unless you go with the hd set up that has you rerouting oil lines on the right/cam side of the bike vs an adapter. Running a thermostat is preferable but, adds to the cost unless you go with a jagg kit, a lot of those include the adapter. Sam_48 is happy as a clam. you kinda have to go your own way with it. Iron out your plan with Marvin or one of the guys at Setrab/Jagg. They will probably explain the advantages and disadvantages better. better. 740-625-6228
my thing is protect the lines. That's just me... as you can see from my chaotic body of work, i don't always get it right...or make sense. i didn't use braided lines on the dyna because the set up itself protects the lines/hoses IMSO. i did use the better quality gates hoses and injector clamps though:
this is directly for Jagg's site (where DK's photos came from too). https://jagg.com/collections/hose/pr...t-hose-upgrade
