Installing a New Front End on 89 Sportster
Hi All,
I bought an 89 Sportster about a month ago and I love it. The guy I bought it from had installed a fat, 16'' paughco tire on the front and it looks amazing. Unfortunately, he didn't install a wider front end so the tire rubs on the left fork and that, of course, is much too dangerous not to address. So this winter my plan is to install a new front end. Here's the question, where can I find a comprehensive list of what to get and how to go about the process? I know that sounds like a dumb question but I'm the sort that likes to do all of my research ahead of time and then tackle the project. I know this is a pretty common project, but I have scoured the internet and feel confident that I'm just missing it. I want a detailed description of the project from one end to the other and I just can't seem to find it. I'd also like a detailed parts list so I don't forget to buy something before I start. Anyone have any advice, help, links, etc...? Also, recommendations on which front end you like the best would be welcome. I'm undecided at the moment.
