Did I miss something? Is the OP really large and green? Lifting shaking and tilting a sportster sounds kinda difficult. I'd just pull the tank
^gold!^
a flash light, a fish hook/line. the little seafoam cap thing has a loop that you can hook. taking the tank off is probably your best bet. it's easy takes maybe 5 minutes.
Lots of sensible suggestions! I would certainly take a look inside with a torch, just in case it's in view. Costs nothin' to try and if you can see it a thin length of wire with a small hook bent into one end may pluck it out. Otherwise get busy and take the tank off!
Bearing in mind how International HDF is becoming we must be getting close to the time when it would be helpful if we could access an instant translator! Tomayto, tomarto, torch, BOOM. Oooops......
You could always get 5 friends a hell of a lot of beer and turn the whole bike upside down and shake it out. It saves the trouble of having to disconnect and wrench on anything.
Won't explain the dynamics, but if you lock the forks and jack the rear. secure it, and shake like hell, you could get it to move forward under the bung hole. And possibly snag it.
"Hu, huh hu, he said 'bung hole"
I was in the Army when I first learned the term 'bung hole' was a real thing, and in true Beavis and Butthead fashion it was a never-ending source of low-brow comedy.
