Default fat guy on a little bike (48)

i finally brought home my first harley! it is a new forty-eight, and it's tiny under this fat man but i have other big bikes and i hardly ever see myself from this perspective. plus, it's super fun to ride! reminds me of a very powerful scooter (i'm new to the feet-forward thing).

got a few quick questions, maybe you all can answer some of them:

1. What is the best tail chop out there? is there a good kit? some amazing instructions somewhere? should i let a professional handle it? i think this fender needs to lose about 2/3rds of it's length.

2. who makes the coolest bobber spring seats? i see harley sells some for like $600 all-in -- i guess i'd pay that if they're the best quality as well and guaranteed to last and all (built to last?).

3. who makes these tires? i love the way they look, and i want some...

which tires are on this bike?

I second that. You must be a giant, you make that 48 look like a pocket bike! Congrats on the new sportster!

Ebay sells some pretty good rear fenders for a pretty good price. I imagine they may take a bit of custom fabrication to fit on properly. Just look up "harley sportster bobber tail fender" on Google and you'll end up with a variety of chopped rear fenders kits.

As for a springer pan seat kit, I would look into DK Custom. American made VERY comfortable pan seats. There's a kit they sell for $179, and people have sworn by this product that it's the most comfortable pan seat they've purchased.

Again, congrats, and happy riding!

Cool

My Sporty is a lot bigger than that one! Spring seat? Beware, the only ones I've seen are pretty narrow - I delicately suggest that you would be better off with a suitably broad seat.....

Couple months ago I was coming back from central Cali to San Diego and just south of Bakersfiled I passed a guy on a cbr 250 and he was no joke at least 350 pounds.. He was literally pouring off that poor little bike in every direction.. It was unsafe.. You're good big guy..
