Default 48 speedo relocation help.

Hey guys just finished up a speedometer relocation using the Autometer 3209 and the Joker Machine top clamp with the dummy lights.

My question is for anyone with a 48 that did this same mod, how did you guys get the dummy light set up on the top clamp? It seems that the dummy lights is directly connected to the speedo connector and can't really seperate. The dummy light is too short to reach from where the gas tank bolt (autometer 3209 sits) all the way up to the top clamp. I'm stumped. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

And for anyone that did the Autometer set up, anyone had a hard time trying to get the forks to lock? It seems that the speedo is in the way for the lock to full engage.

You need to read my thread where I addressed all your issues. I don't know about how you will resolve the autometer bracket issue. Perhaps rotate either direction on the forks and try again. This is the reason I went with a solid mount to the tank bolt. I didn't want swinging parts on my forks. Think, If you are turning, the last thing you are looking at is the speedo on the side.

Bottom line, the wires are too short. They can be separated, but must have added wire spliced by either butt splice or soldering.

Good luck.

As stated above, you need to lengthen the wires. I just did away with mine.
