Sure, I wave to all bikers, and yes, bicyclists too, especially young kids, 'makes 'em feel good.
I don't consider the reverse tricycles to be motorcycles, even though you need a MC license to pilot one. But maybe it's just a matter of semantics, as there are 3 wheeled fork trucks that are still called fork trucks...hmmmmmmmmm...
That said, even if you wanted to, you could never wave to everyone, because you may be in the middle of a manuever, feathering in the clutch on a grade, paying attention to a particularly gnarly road surface, etc. And anyway, does the wave only count on two lane roads? What about when there's two lanes each direction with a median and guardrail between you? Noone ever waves to me on those roads! Now I'm gettin' a complex...LOL.
The bottom line is that your ~safety~ comes first over any stupid wave!

I get waved at from folks mowing their lawn, kids, bus drivers, soldiers, sport cars, Brit Bikes, Gold Wings, cops, and even Harley riders. When I'm on 3 wheels, not so much on two...
I love waving at scooters from a Harley; amazing how scared some of them look when I do that.
I wave to everyone. Harley riders, metric bikes, trikes, Can-Am Spyders, people on their front porch, a cager who didn't pull out in front of me on a side street, even a cop. However, I don't wave at scooters. Sometimes, a moped, but NEVER scooters. Ya gotta draw the line, somewhere.

I know everyone is PC now, so everyone waves to everyone. being from NY I don't wave too often due to the condition of the roads and i'm on a sportster which doesn't take bumps and potholes too well. I don't feel like going down because I waved back to someone. that being said, I usually ride now with 2 hands to stay safe. for some reason, even if i'm on my road king relaxing, I just cant bring myself to wave to these new 3 wheelers...i'll wave to harley trikes of course, but I don't consider these things bikes, more like juiced up golf carts....maybe i'm just an old school Harley snob. i'm sure i'll be called a few names but that's ok, I was just wondering if anyone else feels the same.
Enjoy the winter.
