Black or Chrome Apes on a Nightster?

A lot of votes for chrome. Is the pendulum swinging back? All my bikes, bof-of-'em, are black and chrome (dirt bike is black and yellow). Tractors are green. Work trucks are white. Harleys are black (and chrome).
I've never understood the "I'd rather ride than polish chrome" argument. You clean chrome. You polish Aluminum. Chrome became popular because it's shiny AND easy to clean. If you want a dirty bike, what does it matter if it's chrome, flat black or purple pok-a-dots? Anybody can have a rat bike. It takes very little effort, and a dose of pride, to have a clean, 10 year old, 25,000 mile Sportster.
Besides, what else is the OL gonna do when she's done cooking dinner? LOL

Been having second thoughts lately on the chrome z bars. Going to fit them on it today to get a better idea of how it looks. I think it might be too much chrome for the bike. I think the wheels or tranny needs to be chrome for it to match. I was thinking maybe the black z bar with chrome ISO grips. Not sure though. I'll see what I think after today.
