Default Bassani Radial Sweepers Review

Rating 1-10. 10 being highest.

Video here:

Difficulty to install: 6 Because of the shape of the pipes ans the step up in size diameter there is no room for error in getting tools into the flanges. Instructions said install front first but that was a lie! You must install the rear pipe first or you will not be able to access the flange nuts. You have to disconnect your brake pedal hardware and remove the sprocket cover.

Quality of pipes: 9.5. These are rock solid pipes

Loudness with baffles: 8
Loudnes without baffles: 9.5

Sound quality: 10-10

Overall satisfaction: 10-10

Summary:
Installed with baffles and took her for a ride. I had Vance and Hines slip ons before and they were about a 6.8-7 out of ten for loudness. After freeway riding the Vance and Hines really quieted down. I wanted MORE sound. The Bassani's with baffles were about a 8 out of 10 for loudness but wow the sound is Sooo much better sounding and smoother but definitely sounded restricted and I did not get the sound I had hoped for.

Went back out with an allen wrench and removed both baffles in about 5 minutes and took her back out for a ride.....

OMG!!! The sound is Amazeballs!!! Sound is 9.5 out of 10 for loudness, but again, not ear piercing. Deep and smooth sounds and really rip/cracks on throttle.

Power is immediately noticeable throughout with my Fuelpak 3. The pipes are "stepped" and thick!

My favorite mod to date. This exhaust completely changed my bike. Ride safe!!!

Looks nice....with no baffles, you must have lost some low-mid range torque. How did you compensate...TTIs?

When I ran the tune that I had with the slip ons I didn't lose much low end, but was getting slight popping in low gears. When I changed the tune today, no more pops but I did notice low end loss of torque.

I would consider TTI's but need to read the reviews on them. Are they worth it? More importantly, do they work?

Yes, TTI is a very inexpensive upgrade. Probably the best performance upgrade for your buck.
Kevin from DK Customs can answer your questions regarding TTIs and will probably find this thread soon.
Here is a thread on TTIs which includes sound videos of exhaust without baffles.
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/vendo...s-inserts.html

I personally had all three size TTIs and installed TTIs on three different slip-ons....but they all had baffles so I am not able to provide an assessment on performance improvements without baffles. I currently do not run TTIs since my PV tuner was able to take care of any performance deficiencies and the different sizes did not properly fit my 3" pipes. On my 2.5" pipes, it definitely improved low to mid range torque and provided a deeper sound....the pic of the slip-on in the thread above is actually my 2.5" slip-ons with W158 TTIs before I changed out the exhaust. I would presume the improvement would be magnified with TTIs if you did not have baffles.

It is cheap enough that it won't burn a hole in your pocket if it doesn't work for you. Let us know if it helped your situation.
