on 2004-2006 models there is no way to adjust the timing if it has the stock ignition module. It is pre-set from the factory. But you can get a new ignition module from companies like Dyna and twin tech that will allow you to change the timing.
If your bike has been converted from an 883 to a 1200 it is mandatory IMO to get a new ignition module otherwise you will have detonation issues which can damage the engine.

I have already replaced the crank sensor. Symptoms are intermittent carb fart/ popping, sometimes the idle is "rough" and lack of power (it is an 883 but it seemed to have more power before) It takes a lot to get 60-70 MPH out of it. It just seems like the timing is a little off for lack of a better description. maybe carb work is in order.

Also at 10 years, is the likely possibility of intake manifold seal leaks, both at the cylinder heads and the manifold to carb connection.
