12mm (O/D) / M8 / 5mm Spacers: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331033653316

Only criticism if buying again would be that metal spacers would be better as due to the lack of thickness of the spacer it can't be torqued down very tight at all before buckling.
Why not just cut the bolt off rather than use the spacers?

Inverted mirrors are a po-boy attempt to make a crappy mirrors potentially useable. Nobody inverts mirrors that work. I replaced mine with custom mirrors that give me full rear vision without my body being in the frame. Yeah upside down mirrors are not styling.

Actually their are a lot of us inverting mirrors because it does work.
The stock location puts your shoulders in half the field of view. Inverted, I can actually see behind me.
Not for style, just function.

Nice tip. Another advantage of inverted mirrors is that it cleans up the wind stream near your helmet at high speed. That reduces noise, may not make a difference at 45 for a refreshing adult beverage, but if your not getting off for the next 17 hours can be a big help.

Because that's a bigger and unnecessarily invasive job? The spacer works perfectly, is unnoticeable and hasn't damaged any stock parts.

Nothing to do with styling, it's so you can actually see behind you (it's a significant improvement). With the Sporty being quite a slim compact bike the style of mirrors you'd need up top for a clear view would be too wide and wouldn't look right.

The '16 48 comes out of the factory with them flipped btw.
